正文(英文)Jülich, 3 September 2021 – Forschungszentrum Jülich will establish a “Helmholtz Cluster for a Sustainable and Infrastructure-Compatible Hydrogen Economy” (HC-H2) in the Rhineland region. The flagship project for creating new added value driven by research will receive around € 860 million in funding over a period of about 17 years from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the investment act for coal-mining regions. North Rhine-Westphalia is also contributing state funds to the establishment of HC-H2. Armin Laschet, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Thomas Rachel, Member of the German Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), gave a presentation on the project on 2 September in close proximity to the Inden open-cast mine. Thomas Rachel also presented the first notice of federal funding in his capacity as state secretary.
