英文摘要 | Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas responsible for more than 25 per cent of the warming we are experiencing today. Reducing methane emissions quickly is one of the most powerful actions that humanity can take in the near term to slow climate change and improve air quality. The oil and gas sector is one of the largest sources of anthropogenic methane. Low-cost emissions reductions across the industry could provide up to 15 per cent of the emissions cuts required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. Action on methane is increasing among stakeholders around the world.
