'America is still segregated, and so is pollution'
Residents of Africatown, Ala., trace industrial pollution in their community to the last ship that brought Africans to slavery in the U.S. in 1860. Local activist Joe Womack says land deals by the descendants of the slave ship's captain have direct links to dirty air and water today. "I imagine," he says, "that's probably the same thing in a lot of areas where Blacks live."
