Dear colleagues,
As you may be aware, there is a U.S. Department of Energy workshop occurring in late January on coordinated, open watershed science (see below for info).
The workshop team is very interested in community input and using that input to guide the workshop and associated report. To that end, we are announcing a call for white papers that is open to everyone. White papers are due January 15th
White papers will be included as an appendix to the workshop report, with attribution to those that contribute (Note: you can opt out of being included in the report)
The description of the call and associated logistics can be found here: https://drive.google.com/openid=1625RJ52C_ZNyDgqix0b9amlp730A0nN5
We would greatly appreciate you forwarding along this information to all that might be interested, via email, social media, or any other outlet you have access to.
The white paper is distinct from a previous set of questions associated with a late November webinar that many of you already responded to (via a Google form). The white paper call was heavily influenced by the community feedback received during and after that webinar, and we thank all that provided input.
If you’re not familiar with this workshop, here are some linked materials for background:
- Document summarizing the workshop: “Leveraging Distributed Research Networks to Understand Watershed Systems.”

- Recorded presentation: https://zoom.us/recording/share/RnY4HiB30Xjd_18J26KJjWqHPI5EnZoIsGymM_wXcy6wIumekTziMw
We greatly look forward to and appreciate your contributions.
Sincerely,
The workshop team
