The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), on behalf of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), will shortly be inviting applications for new interdisciplinary director of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC).

EPSRC, ESRC and NERC, as part of their contribution to the UKRI Energy Programme, are supporting Phase 4 of UKERC. The Research Councils have funded UKERC since 2004, and in the current phase have made a significant investment of £18 million with funding provided from 2019 for 5 years.

UKERC acts a focal point for UK energy research and a gateway between the UK and the international energy research communities and carries out world-class research into sustainable future energy systems. Its interdisciplinary, whole systems research informs UK policy development and strategies of public, private and third sector organisations.
