正文(英文) | PhD student Philipp Arndt is in Antarctica with the Subglacial Antarctic Lakes Scientific Access (SALSA) project. Here, he's firing up a Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) on the ice stream to find out more about snow accumulation, and for comparison with GPS and satellite-derived estimates. SALSA is uncovering new knowledge about the subglacial environment through an integrative study of subglacial geobiology, water column and sedimentary organic carbon, and geobiological processes in one of the largest subglacial lakes in West Antarctica.
