Australian Resources and Energy Group AMMA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben O’Brien (pictured) as its new Head of West Coast Workplace Relations.
An experienced employment lawyer, Ben joins AMMA following numerous senior roles, including Employee Relations Manager for the Water Corporation of WA and Employee Relations Manager at MMA Offshore.
“I am thrilled to join the AMMA team. The diversity of its membership and reputation of its workplace relations expertise is second to none,” Ben said.
“It’s also a very exciting and interesting time for AMMA’s Western Australian members, with a number of significant opportunities on the horizon. Albeit, there are also many workplace relations challenges that must be managed and overcome.
“I look forward to engaging with members on a range of important workplace and industry issues as we collectively realise these opportunities.”
AMMA chief executive Steve Knott said Ben would be an asset to Western Australian members.
“Ben is qualified across law, workplace relations, communications and business management. Most importantly, he also brings strong depth of industry knowledge,” Steve said.
“He is also well known to AMMA members through his participation in several industry forums and special interest groups, particularly during his time with MMA Offshore.
“I also wish to thank former Head of West Coast David Parker for his service to AMMA members and leadership of the West Coast team over the past three years.”
Ben commences with AMMA on July 22 and will focus on workplace relations strategy and working with members in building a sustainable industry framework.
