ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce that its Geoscience COVID-19 Study has been extended into a third and final phase thanks to continued support by the National Science Foundation (Award #2029570). This final phase of the study will track the transition of instructional and work intervention strategies used during the pandemic into their adoption as permanent approaches used within academia and the workforce.

Throughout 2022, project participants will be given the opportunity to provide feedback once a month about their work or learning environment in the study's ongoing longitudinal survey. In addition, this phase of the study will collect oral histories and host a Fall 2022 webinar series to gain an in-depth look at the strategies used by employers, academic departments, faculty, recent graduates, and post-doctoral fellows to overcome pandemic-related restrictions and impacts to their work, research, and learning. Information from the oral histories and webinar series will be incorporated into the study's findings.

The study will continue to accept new participants through December 2022 and is open to all geoscientists, including students, retirees, and those not currently employed who reside in the United States and are at least 18 years old. We also encourage company, organization, and academic leaders to participate on behalf of their organizations to elucidate organization-level changes under way.
