正文(英文)	Using the X-ray laser European XFEL, an international research team has gained new insights into how radiation damage occurs in biological tissue. The study, published in the journal Physical Review X, reveals for the first time in detail how high-energy radiation causes water molecules to break apart into potentially dangerous radicals and electrically charged ions, which can then trigger harmful reactions in the organism.
