The EPA and the Biden Administration are seeking feedback on these programs.

Last week, the Biden administration and the EPA announced $375 million in funding for new grant programs.

According to a press release, these programs and initiatives focus on recycling, reuse and waste prevention.

Examples of these new potential initiatives include “Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling grant program, a Recycling Education and Outreach grant program, [and] a Model Recycling Program toolkit.” The money will also fund “best practices for battery collection, recycling, and labeling guidelines.” The programs and initiatives allow for the potential for “consumer education” on a variety of topics about recycling.

“For far too long, families across America, especially those in underserved communities, have suffered from PFAS. High-quality, robust data on PFAS helps EPA to better understand and ultimately reduce the potential risks caused by these chemicals,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan.“Our communities deserve transparency from the companies that use or produce these substances about their potential environmental and human health impacts.”

The EPA is requesting input on the program, which the press release says is the “largest EPA investment in recycling in 30 years.” The Requests for Information are open to the public online.
