正文(英文) | The latest collection of peer-reviewed Climate Science Briefing Papers have recently been published in our Weather journal and are now freely available on our website. The most recent five papers have an accompanying podcast. The Society's Science Engagement Committee has been producing a series of papers in the past few years to clearly and concisely explain the science behind our changing climate. This year, in the lead up to COP26, we have commissioned several more papers from leading climate experts. These topics include tipping points, how climate change will affect UK weather extremes and what an ice-free Arctic could mean for European weather. Each paper is supported with a podcast featuring one of the authors in conversation with our Science Engagement Manager, Hannah Mallinson. Prof Peter Stott and Prof John Mitchell Prof James Screen Dr Ben Harvey and Prof Len Shaffrey Dr Eunice Lo and Prof Dann Mitchell Dr Linda Speight and Karolina Krupska Prof Tim Lenton A further two peer-reviewed papers will follow on the topics of: 'What are the benefits of reducing global CO2 emissions to net-zero by 2050?' and 'How close are we to 1.5 or 2 degrees warming?'. |
