Over the last more than 2 years (2018-2020), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) has worked closely with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), and Thailand National Taskforce Team members on a project titled “Policy Dialogue and Network Building of Multi-stakeholders on integrated Decentralized Domestic Wastewater Management in ASEAN Countries”, funded by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund. As part of our commitment, this Policy Brief has been jointly prepared by the team to address the barriers and provide policy recommendations to improve the performance of wastewater sector in Thailand, particularly focusing on exploring how sanitation value chain and decentralised wastewater management approach could contribute toward sustainable wastewater and faecal sludge management in Thailand
