This study analyzes the economic impact of ongoing and future infrastructure development projects in Nepal as the country aims to strengthen international connectivity under the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation framework.

The geographical simulation model developed by the Institute of Developing Economies is used in the study. The simulation analysis reveals that ongoing infrastructure development projects in Nepal benefit the country’s economy, and that the planned connectivity improvement with India will have positive impact with anticipated major shift in mode of transport for trade.
