Vienna Shooting: Attack at Austria Synagogue Leaves at Least One Dead

Several attackers killed at least one person and seriously injured others in a terrorist attack in an area around a synagogue in the Austrian capital Vienna on Monday night, as the WSJ reports.

New Lockdown in Germany

Germany entered a new partial lockdown on Monday amid skyrocketing coronavirus cases across Europe, a specter that Chancellor Angela Merkel called a test not seen in her country since the end of World War II, as the NYT reports.

Vaccine Disparities

An analysis from researchers at Duke University’s Global Health Innovation Center, found that high- and middle-income countries have already purchased 3.8 million doses of potential coronavirus vaccines, with options for 5 billion more. As a result, relatively wealthy nations will likely be able to vaccinate their entire populations while people in low-income countries could be waiting until 2024, as the Washington Post reports.
