The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Physics (IoP) and E3G are hosting a strategic digital round table to discuss paving the way for collaboration and coalition building ahead of COP26

Event Description

Delivering a net zero and resilient economy requires a complete rewiring of all global economic sectors in two decades. Professionals (engineers, architects, surveyors, auditors, accountants, lawyers, doctors, regulators etc.) are the collective memory of the operating system underpinning the economy and so should be a major driver of this change. E3G wants to mobilise these actors in LCAW2020.

The UK is home to many professional bodies of global standing. Most have their HQs in London but extend their reach and networks with immense influence across the UK and globally.

Professional bodies shape and influence the behaviour of current and future members. They also have enormous global reach in setting norms and standards of behaviour.

The aim of the event is to:

• Capture current good practice
• Share learning and experience
• Discuss the concept of working together and what might be the scope of a practical framework for interdisciplinary and cross-sectorial collaboration
• Signal a commitment to working together en route to COP26 and define some ways of working to underpin this

We anticipate attendees will be able to represent their organisations across one or more of the following areas: climate change and the SDGs, policy and/or government affairs.
