正文(英文)	Additional Resources 2 Images ; Additional Resources 2 Images ; The project was announced by the Minister for Environment with the Minister for Industry, Science and Technology on Friday 21 August 2020: World-first marine heatwave research CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Research Program Director and lead researcher for this project Dr Alistair Hobday said: "Forecasting extreme marine events will provide early warning for marine users, and allow proactive decision making to reduce risk." "Not all events will be forecastable, and this research will also seek to understand signals in the ocean and atmosphere that allow prediction of extreme events."
