These six technical reports detail analysis subsequent to that presented in Franklin et al 2019 that was used to finalise the suspended and deposited fine sediment attributes for the National Policy Statement – Freshwater Management (NPS-FM). They also include analysis that updates findings of Hicks et al 2019 which was the basis for hydrological and economic impact testing of the proposed sediment attributes.

The data output of these reports is provided on the MFE dataservice.

Technical report 1: in-filling sediment classes [PDF 3.1 MB]	This report matches all existing River Environmental Classification (REC) climate, topography and geology groupings to sediment classes per the classification developed by Franklin et al 2019. This report includes the final sediment attribute classes.
Technical report 2: comparison of clarity and turbidity bottom lines [PDF 1.5 MB]	This report evaluates discrepancies in bottom lines between clarity and turbidity attribute bottom line values in Franklin et al 2019.
Technical report 3: comparison of deposited sediment reference states [PDF 1.8 MB]	This report uses a recently-collated dataset to compare model predicted reference state of deposited fine sediment using different input indicators.
Technical report 4: final derivation of visual clarity bottom lines [PDF 1.4 MB]	This report presents the final visual clarity bottom lines and bands for inclusion in the NPS-FM.
Technical report 5: final derivation of deposited sediment bottom lines [PDF 1.4 MB]	This report presents the final deposited sediment bottom lines and bands for inclusion in the NPS-FM.
Technical report 6: Sediment load reductions to meet visual clarity bottom lines [PDF 674 KB]	This report updates the findings of Hicks et al 2019 to provide estimated sediment load reductions needed to meet visual clarity bottom lines shown in Technical report 4.
