A dynamic and increasingly complex development landscape is emerging—climate change and environmental pressures, aging populations, urbanization and infrastructure gaps, poverty and inequality continue to persist, advances in technology and artificial intelligence offering opportunities and challenges on the jobs front.

Together with various stakeholders—governments, civil society, nongovernment organizations, the media and youth, ADB shared and discussed its program of action—Strategy 2030—its response in helping the region adapt, thrive, and succeed.

The Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors is an opportunity to provide guidance on the administrative, financial, and operational directions of ADB. The meetings provide opportunities for member governments to interact with ADB staff; nongovernment organizations; media; and representatives of observer countries, international organizations, academe, and the private sector. The meetings also have become a premier forum for the discussion of economic and social development issues in Asia and the Pacific.
