英文摘要

This joint report on the mobilization of private finance for 2017 was issued by Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), including ADB.

The reporting institutions follow a common methodology on the private finance mobilization that was agreed in 2016. The report measures private investment in development projects in which MDBs and DFIs also finance or have otherwise structured and supported the project.

Based on 2017 commitment data, the estimated total amount of long-term co-financing mobilized by the MDBs/DFIs from private investors and other institutional investors (including insurance companies, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds) in all countries of operation was $163.5 billion. Of this, Private Direct Mobilization is estimated at $52.0 billion, which is approximately 32 percent of total mobilization.

Private mobilization is instrumental in achieving global sustainable development goals by promoting inclusive and sustainable growth, fighting poverty and inequality, mitigating the effects of climate change, or achieving other development impacts. This is the second report in the series.
