The HSU is intended for creators of ADB publications and documents. It contains guidance on common problems of English grammar, usage, and punctuation; extensive sections on abbreviations, capitalization, and document referencing; and an appendix listing the names and currencies of ADB members. The HSU is meant to make the preparation of written material simpler for ADB staff members and consultants, and will significantly improve the quality and consistency of ADB documents and publications. The online version of the handbook is updated from time to time (last updated in 2019).
