英文摘要	Mergers and acquisitions can strengthen a firm's innovation efforts but those in developing countries need to build up absorptive capacity. We provide both theoretical perspectives and empirical evidence on the relationship between mergers and acquisitions (M&As) and corporate innovation. We also identify relevant policies implemented by countries around the world to encourage corporate innovation activities, and discuss experiences from which policy makers and practitioners in Asia could learn lessons from. Finally, we make policy recommendations to promote innovation in both emerging and developed economies in Asia at different stages of development. WORKING PAPER NO: 789
