The 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP)  to the United Nations Climate Change Convention, the 12th session of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, and the first session of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement were held in Bab Ighli, Marrakech, Morocco 7–18 November 2016, with 22,500 participants including 50 heads of state or government.

The Asian Development Bank  was represented by the director of the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Division and two staff members.
