正文(英文) | Wastewater treatment and utility management professionals may still take advantage of the rich array of knowledge featured in the technical program for the canceled Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Virginia) Odors and Air Pollutants 2020 Conference. WEF will offer presentation recordings from select technical sessions that detail odor, corrosion, and air pollution concerns, available beginning April 20. Participants can watch recorded presentations at their own pace, and earn professional development hour (PDH) credits after passing short quizzes following each session to. “Although we may not have been able to meet in Cincinnati last month, we still wanted to provide an opportunity for water resource recovery professionals to gain the knowledge they need to keep our air safe and our communities odor-free,” said WEF Education and Training Specialist Steven Massa. “We are excited to offer the best of the 2020 Odors and Air Pollutants Conference technical program in a convenient digital format.” Comprehensive Technical ProgramFor the digital conference, planners selected five technical sessions related to preventing, predicting, and mitigating problematic odors and air-related challenges during wastewater treatment and conveyance. Digital conference offerings also provide important perspectives on topics such as financing and performance monitoring, and relay valuable lessons from successful and unsuccessful odor control projects. The five digital sessions include:
Session moderators and presenters reflect the diverse makeup of the stormwater profession, including representatives from utilities, academia, and the private sector. Each session contains several subtopics that detail challenges, opportunities, and innovations currently facing the odor-and-air-pollution-control space directly from the people working in them. Participate in the digital conference to learn more about topics such as detecting and measuring volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), using modeling programs to help control sulfides and other odorants, and designing water resource recovery facilities and collection systems to keep corrosion at bay. Registration for the conference is open now at a cost of $389 for WEF members or $589 for non-members. Access the digital conference beginning April 20 at the WEF website. Questions?
