正文(英文)	21/01/2020 – After a year of climate change making headlines, the global leaders’ meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos, too, has climate change written in large letters on its programme. Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research is one of the scientists present to make the voice of science heard. He kicked off his stay at the summit by reuttering the planetary emergency call at a press conference at the Arctic Basecamp on Monday, alongside Gail Whiteman of Lancaster University, former UNFCCC head Christiana Figueres, the actor Rainn Wilson, and Nigel Topping of We Mean Business. On Wednesday, Jan 22, he will be speaking at a press briefing of the European Research Council (ERC) with Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education & Youth, and ERC president Mauro Ferrari. Topics will be the new European Commission’s focus on climate, with its Green Deal and striving to be the first climate-neutral continent. There lies a huge lever for decarbonising and for reducing humanity’s current transgressions of planetary boundaries. These issues he will address on Wed, 22, 4 pm at the event “New Agenda on Food". With the high-level stakeholders present at the mountain summit, he will be exploring how to set a scientific target for biodiversity ahead of CBD’s big biodiversity summit this autumn in Kunming, China.
