WASHINGTON (June 26, 2019) – This week the government of Norway announced plans to allocate approximately $53 million USD to purchase high-resolution satellite images of tropical forests. These images will be made freely available throughout the next four years to goverement and civil society groups, including Global Forest Watch.

Improved imagery means that GFW can provide users with more timely and accurate information about when and where forests are changing around the world.”
