Full session title is: "Measuring and modeling fluxes across the surface water/groundwater interface".
There has been significant research and advances made in identifying and quantifying fluxes across the surface water/groundwater interface using both field- and modeling-based methods. This session seeks to highlight research that emphasizes the importance these fluxes to the quantity and composition of groundwater and surface water, including gases, solutes, and fluids, and interactions with solid phases. Understanding the processes that drive changes in these exchange fluxes is important to our ability to predict of the effects of climate change, land use change, and other natural and anthropogenic impacts on the hydrologic cycle. The objective of this session is to show the breadth of studies at the groundwater/surface-water interface, and how they are continuing to be undertaken in innovative ways.
This session encourages the submission of abstracts discussing the measurement and modeling of fluxes of gases, solutes, and fluids across groundwater/surface water interfaces, with an emphasis on innovative techniques and results of unique case studies.
