POSITION OF PROFESSOR IN SURFACE GEOLOGY AND GEOCHEMISTRY
The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is looking for qualified candidates with teaching and research experience in environmental geology and geochemistry. Application files with the following research themes will be prioritized: geological and geochemical characterization of soils; assessment of environmental risks associated with the release of contaminants into the environment; remediation of contaminated sites; interactions between soil and surficial/geological environments (critical zone framework).
The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Earth and atmospheric sciences and will be encouraged to develop a dynamic research program within the department and associated research center GEOTOP (www.geotop.ca). The research program must demonstrate the potential for collaborations with researchers working in disciplines such as hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, isotope and environmental geochemistry, and surface geology (pedology, geomorphology).
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in the field of geology and environmental geochemistry
- Research experience in the above field and a good record of publications
- Proficiency in the French language, both oral and written
