The 30^th Banksia Sustainability Awards gala ceremony has achieved certification as a carbon neutral event. The Banksia Awards are the longest-running sustainability awards in the world and recognise outstanding environmental achievements.

To achieve certification, the Banksia Foundation reduced the carbon emissions associated with the event by choosing a venue committed to sustainability, choosing digital promotion over paper, and carefully considering the waste generated by over-catering. The foundation invested in a renewable energy project on India and a forest conservation project in Brazil to offset remaining emissions.
