IEEP is looking for a full-time policy assistant to support the work of the Global Programme, to be based in our Brussels office. This is a paid, six-month long internship, with possibility of renewal.
The successful candidate will be hired under the terms of a “Convention d'immersion professionnelle” under Belgian law.
The successful applicant will work within IEEP’s Global Programme, with close cooperation across all other programmes within the institute. The successful candidate will support the IEEP’s Global Programme in developing new and ongoing projects, assisting with research and supporting the programme’s outreach and communication, which could involve:
- Undertaking evidence-based analysis (literature reviews, data collection, interviews) to support ongoing and future policy papers and analysis;
- Horizon scanning and monitoring of the international and European policy agenda (e.g. policy developments, meetings, news and opinions);
- Supporting the Programme’s outreach and communications (e.g. external representation, social media presence and blog posts for ieep.eu)
The Global Programme works on several themes, all under the umbrella of supporting the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This includes further development and implementation of the EU’s SDG policy framework, in particular, linked with improving the integration of environmental aspects into the EU trade policy.

Salary: €1100 gross per month
Duration: Duration: Full-time, 6 months CIP contract from February 2020, with a possible renewal for an extra 6 months (1 year in total)
