Tel Aviv, 6 December 2019: The 2019 Maala conference in Tel Aviv, held on 4 and 5 December, featured the launch of a book sharing the stories and best practices of companies in Israel that have a significant social impact and contribute to Inclusive Growth.

The book, titled Leaving No One Behind: Israeli Business and Inclusive Growth was written by Maala and Prof. David Grayson, a global expert on Responsible Business and Corporate Sustainability.

Inclusive Growth is defined by the OECD as "economic growth that is distributed fairly across society and creates opportunities for all." Simply put, it is growth that benefits everyone.

The book includes some 30 case studies of businesses' contribution to inclusive growth in Israel. The cases are organized according to four pillars: Workplace, Supply Chain, Marketplace: Products & Services, Business and Society.

The book is a milestone, rather than a finish line. 'Leaving No One Behind' is a call to action rather than an implication that the work is complete.

The authors hope that the book will inspire many more businesses in Israel and globally – both large and small – to contribute to Inclusive Growth; and will encourage businesses already engaged to scale up their efforts on inclusive growth.

The 4th Maala international con(fair)ence gathered hundreds of leaders, practitioners, and entrepreneurs in Tel Aviv. The conference focused on leveraging business impact to address social issues and inequality.

Maala is a non-profit corporate membership organization promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Israel. Founded in 1998, Maala is considered as the CSR standards-setting organization in Israel. Presently, the membership organization is comprised of some 110 members, Israel’s largest companies.

Maala is a partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s (WBCSD) Global Network, an alliance of more than 60 CEO-led business organizations worldwide. The Network, encompassing some 5,000 companies, is united by a shared commitment to provide business leadership for sustainable development in their respective countries and regions.
