正文(英文)	NERC is recruiting two new directors to join its senior leadership team. NERC is the UK's leading public funder of environmental science. We work with research centres, higher education institutions (HEIs), government, civil society and business to shape the direction of environmental research and innovation. We fund cutting-edge discovery science and strategic research, whilst providing the training, skills and infrastructure the UK needs to remain at the forefront of environmental science. We are advertising these roles at a time of unprecedented change. People are impacting the planet and driving environmental change on a scale that is unique in Earth's history. Director, Research & Skills The Director of Research & Skills will demonstrate NERC's leadership and drive by developing, implementing and championing the research and skills aspects of NERC's strategic Delivery Plan. The successful candidate will lead good practice, sharing learning from inside and outside NERC, including with key government stakeholders including the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, chief scientific advisers and other government departments. They will ensure NERC processes are of high quality and integrity, thereby maintaining the confidence of NERC, and the wider community, in assessing and deciding upon science investments, in order to ensure scientific excellence across the NERC domain. Director, Strategic Partnerships The Director of Strategic Partnerships will lead good practice, driving forwards knowledge sharing with key partners including HEIs, research centres and other stakeholders. They will ensure that NERC's national capability commissioning is of the highest quality, to maintain NERC's ability to support leading-edge science and innovation, and will ensure effective policy, planning and delivery of capital investments whilst also strengthening programme management of cross-council and strategic funds, including the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. The appointed candidates will also contribute to the corporate management of NERC as members of an active and collegiate senior leadership team, and will be expected to represent and speak on behalf of NERC, and UK Research & Innovation more broadly, to a wide range of communities and stakeholders at senior and working levels.
