正文(英文) | The association “Vezo Mitsinjo ny hoaviny” offers dives to tourists in the reefs of their community marine reserve, "Ranolaly".
The association “Vezo Mitsinjo ny hoaviny” (the Vezo who are preparing their future), is the spearhead of communities in the village of Beheloke, South of Tulear. They manage the marine areas around their village and have chosen sustainable tourism in their reefs to support their conservation activities. As good "vezo", the nomadic fishing community of western Madagascar, they offer dives to tourists in the reefs of their community marine reserve, "Ranolaly" (deep waters in English). Célestin Rasolonjatovo, member of the association, announces that “there are eight different circuits including the cave circuit, which is 15 meters deep”. There are big fishes in it, but also coral reefs of different colors. “We have tourist guides” he adds; you can eat fresh fishes there. Friendly accommodations are also available for those who want to spend the night at the reserve. The Beheloke fishermen received ecotourism training supported by WWF and the Tulear regional tourism office. They are certified divers who have their diving certificate. They are members of the MIHARI national network of managers of Malagasy community marine areas. They have their Facebook page, facebook.com/ranolalyBeheloke and can be reached directly on +261340837634 / 349968921 |
