Twelve villagers from Kivalo, in the north of Morondava, left their village in mid-November to southern Madagascar. They have visited the communities of Ranomay, about 150 km north of Toliara.
Ranomay was the final stop to an eight-day journey to eco-tourism sites managed by communities. The twelve representatives of Kivalo's ecotourism community were accompanied by WWF for an exchange field trip.

During the visit to Ranomay, Mrs. Nivo, a cooker from Kivalo, was positively marked by how the local products were prepared into succulent and original dishes. As for Dodo, a local guide in Kivalo, he has asked many questions to his colleagues from Ranomay who already have national guide agreement.

Sitrany Nantoany, a member of the Ranomay community, showed how the life of the population of Ranomay has evolved through ecotourism. Not to mention the training received, partnerships gained and opportunities.

The twelve Kivalo managers were imaptient to return home with new ideas for their ecotourism in the mangroves.
