正文(英文) | ![]() NSF thanks the nation's teachers for dedicated service to excellence in education.
William J. (Jim) Lewis, the acting assistant director for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR), issued the following statement on Teacher Appreciation Week: In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the NSF Directorate for Education and Human Resources want to acknowledge and celebrate the nation's science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teachers for their dedicated service to STEM education. We understand the challenges teachers face in their time-honored profession, and we are grateful for their commitment to providing an excellent education every day, for every student. The nation depends on teachers to prepare the next generation for careers in STEM fields. We applaud their determination and selflessness, as they strive to ensure our nation's students continue to learn and grow. We at NSF are committed to supporting educators and STEM teacher education efforts. We offer many programs that provide training, skills and resources to help teachers succeed in their endeavors. We are honored to foster support for these efforts through current funding of our programs including: the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, Discovery Research PreK-12 (DR-K12), Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST), the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) and many others. Indeed, Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time for us at NSF. It allows us to acknowledge educators for the invaluable work they do and to reflect on the profound impact they have on the lives of students across the nation. We hope they will accept our heartfelt gratitude for all they do for STEM education. We hope that all educators have a happy Teacher Appreciation Week. -NSF- |
