Ecologists and evolutionary biologist have strived to understand the abundance and distribution of species – a key component needed for management and conservation. A special issue of the journal Remote Sensing is inviting manuscript submissions to advance the study of wildlife occurrence and distribution. "Remote Sensing for Monitoring Wildlife and Habitat in a Changing World" is edited by Andrés Viña, CSIS assistant professor and Mao-Ning Tuanmu, a CSIS alumni now executive director and assistant research fellow in Academia Sinica’s Biodiversity Research Center in Taiwan. The works presented will represent scientific and technological innovations in remote sensing for assessing the spatio-temporal dynamics of wildlife species and their habitat, and their incorporation into ecological research and biodiversity conservation Manuscripts will be accepted until July 31, 2019.
