The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in collaboration with other EqUIP funding partners is investing around £5 million for EqUIP's pilot research call on Sustainability, Equity, Wellbeing and Cultural Connections. The funded projects will run for up to 36 months and commence January 1 2019.

This call for collaborative research projects has been developed as part of the EU-India Platform which promotes cooperation between funding agencies to help enhance research collaboration between social science and humanities research communities in Europe and India.

The call invited joint applications for collaborative research projects from researchers based in India, Finland, France, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland and the UK. All applications included researchers based in at least three of these countries.

These awards will provide a major stimulus for developments in the social sciences, arts and humanities and have the potential to produce significant economic and societal impact.
