Japan has submitted the 7th National Communication (NC7) and the 3rd Biennial Report (BR3), which includes its policies and measures on climate change, to the secretariat, in accordance with the Article 4 and 12 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Article 7 of the Kyoto Protocol, the Cancun Agreements and the Durban Decisions, each developed country Party.

Information on GHG inventories between FY1990 and FY2015

Chapter 3

Policies and Measures

Information on policies and measures related to emission reductions and removals of GHG based on "Plan for Global Warming Countermeasures"

Projections

Information on projected emissions in FY2020 and FY2030 by gas and by sector

Chapter 5

Vulnerability Assessment, Climate Change Impacts, and Adaptation Measures

Information on an overview of projected climate change impacts and adaptation activities

Chapter 6

Financial, Technological and Capacity-building Support

Information on financial, technological and capacity-building support to developing country Parties provided by Japan in order to support climate change measures in developing countries

Research and Systematic Observation

Information on Japan's research activities and systematic observation related to climate change

Information on the progress made toward achieving the GHG emission reduction targets and policies and measures related to emission reductions and removals of GHG based on "Plan for Global Warming Countermeasures"

Chapter 4

Projections

Information on projected emissions in FY2020 and FY2030 by gas and by sector.

Chapter 5

Financial, Technological and Capacity-building Support

Information on financial, technological and capacity-building support to developing country Parties provided by Japan in order to support climate change measures in developing countries

2. International Assessment and Review Process

Each report submitted by developed country Parties will be subject to the in-depth review and the international assessment and review process after March 2018.

Specifically, NC7 will be subject to the in-depth reviews and BR3 will be subject to technical reviews by expert review teams. Then multilateral assessment (MA) will be conducted for each developed country Party during a session of Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI).
